Care & cleaning of Wrought Iron Doors & Windows

Cleaning your Doors:
Donatello doors have a very strong finish that is similar in quality to the finish on your automobile. This means it is resistant to rust and will last for many years. It also means that it can be damaged by improper cleaning.

Use a soft sponge and mild detergent, like dish washing liquid, diluted in warm water. You do not need to use much soap, only about the same concentration as you would use to do dishes. Simply wash the surfaces and then rinse with clean water.
Never use abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads as these can scratch the surface. Also never use solvent cleaners as they can also damage the finish.

Cleaning your Windows:
Windows on Donatello Doors are openable from the inside so that they may be easily cleaned. You may use the same soap and water mix as you would for washing the doors themselves. You may also use a proprietary glass cleaner like Windex but, in this case, be sure to wipe any overspill off the door surfaces.

Do not use petroleum-based cleaners, caustic chemicals, razor blades, putty knifes or abrasive pads. Also you should not spray any windows (on our doors or around your house) with a garden hose or pressure washer as it can damage the seals.
